On the topic of facebook, I would tend to side with Scruton. I do believe that facebook has changed the definition of friend. It has definitely taken emphasis of of building and developing a friendship with someone to simply clicking a button, and adding to a friend. Facebook can definitely be helpful in catching up with old friends or keeping in touch with family, but it has gotten somewhat out of hand.
