How to bridge the gap between moral excellence and natural and cultural excellence?
According to Rawl you need to, "view the greater abilities as a social asset to be used for the common advantage." This means that if you have an ability that you are really good at you need to use it to help others. Not be selfish and use it for yourself to get ahead in this world by making money off of it. Also talents need to be developed so they can reach their potential to excellence and to do this they require moral excellence. To achieve this a person must be hard working and self-disciplined. If someone is a good hearted person but does bad work does that make them a bad person then? Is someone that is mean but does excellent work a bad person? To me you could be excellent at what you do but if you are mean and nothing but rude to people then your work is worthless because people shouldn't be treated badly. If you're better at something than someone else that doesn't make them any less than you so you shouldn't treat them any less. Does anyone have any opinions about this?
I agree with what you and Rawls are saying. If someone is better at doing something than someone else they should feel superior over them because it is most likely that they are better than you at something. Also everybody should do what they are best at, and that will really help society.
