John Rawls says "moral equality is not the same as material equality." If someones morals are not the same as material obviously. A persons morals have an impact on how they view material possessions. Material possessions can then influence a persons morals.
"The norms of equality, dignity, and liberty are clearest and most authoritative when they are violated" (Rawls 41). This simply means we don't notice the norms of the three justices until they are violated.
