Two class periods ago I remember briefly discussing small businesses and what makes them work. This actually got me thinking, and realizing how difficult the task of successfully running a little off brand convenient store must be. The only way any business can thrive is by attracting customers, and this is especially hard for small businesses simply because nobody knows about them. I think the two most important aspects to master is advertising, and discounting. Advertising is important just because it allows people to discover your company. Discounting is as well equally important because even though it may seem like you are losing money by lowering your prices, you are actually interesting more customers. By doing this you will not only sell more products, but also allow for possible business expansion.
