The "invisible hand" is a phrase made by Adam Smith in his book "Wealth of Nations." The phrase refers to an invisible hand pushing a company towards what is right and best for the economy. A company does what is right by doing good for the environment. A good example of this is the car company Subaru, who has zero land fill. All of their waste goes back into the manufacturing process. Hopefully one day all company's will have a zero carbon footprint and not put out any waste to the environment.
