After the quiz on The Barbaric Heart book, I really began to grasp just what Gary White is talking about. We can talk about how much we are moving towards a more greener environment, but are we ever going to be 100% green? I think what he is trying to say is we will never have a perfect green world. God's world has already been abused to a point where it is almost impossible to recover the damage. Instead of really helping make the Earth a better place to live, people are thinking of doing good by recycling or other things when they are really blocking out the fact how damaging we are to our fellow animal life.
What does the phrase in the poem "God's Grandeur," written by Gerald Manley Hopkins, "deep down things" refer to?
