Is advertising trustworthy or not? Some people want to argue that advertising manipulates people into buying products, especially to the younger population. I am neutral in thi arguement. On one side, I do believe that advertisments are a way to make unwanted thoughts and urges come to the surface. On the other, it is in the hands of the public on whether or not they want to watch tose advertisments. Do people really need the latest and greatest technology to make their lives better? I agree and disagree. I agree because if you are in a business or demanding job that has a lot of tasks, meetings, and deadlines, then it is nice to have a piece of technology that enables you to become organized and get everything in order. On the other hand, i do not believe that 5th, 6th, and 7th graders should be walking around with iphones, ipods, or any of the advanced technology because they are not responsible enough to take care of it. Plus, who are you honestly going to talk to when you are in 5th grade? It is interesting to think about how corporations would function if they cannot advertise. They would have to use the old fashion way and go door to door to try and sell their products. But on the downside, that would slow down production. So, is advertising corrupting the youth? on some levels, yes, but on others it is in the hands of their guardians to give into the demands of their children.
